Dear Victory Family,
The Bible is an absolutely essential tool in the arsenal of every individual. It
is essential for our salvation and spiritual growth. The Bible teaches us about
itself that it is profitable for us. In fact the Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:16-17
that "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof,
for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be
adequate, equipped for every good work."
The Bible declares in Romans 10:17, "faith comes from hearing, and hearing by
the word of Christ."
And the Bible further teaches us in Hebrews 11:6, "And without faith it is
impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and
that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him."
That's why I'm encouraging you to read through the New Testament during the
first 90 days of 2012. We've called it "Faith Comes By Hearing."
In the bulletin over the next 3 months there will be trivia questions from your reading that you will be able to answer. And best of all, for those who do not yet read the Bible everyday, perhaps this will give you the incentive to not only get into the Bible, but to allow the Bible to get in to you.
